Warum sind Farbnormen so wichtig?

Why are Colour Standards So Important?

The colour of a brand evokes associations and expectations, triggering images and memories in the consumer's mind. Some brands are so iconic that they can be identified by a single Pantone colour without the need for the associated logo. Others have even gone so far as to register their signature shades with a trademark.

In product development, the right color is the key to catching a person's attention. It is the most important design element to reflect moods and your brand style.

But choosing the right color is just the beginning. Keeping that color consistent throughout the manufacturing process is a major challenge that can be easily solved using Pantone color systems.

  1. Color Interpretation: We all interpret colors in slightly different ways. Even something as seemingly defined as navy blue can mean different things to different people. Using a Pantone color allows you to communicate your precise color preferences in a language that is equally understood around the world.
  2. Different materials : The color, structure and texture of your production materials can have a massive impact on the final appearance of your product. Pantone's digital tools, such as Pantone Connect, and physical color references, such as Pantone fans and chip books, allow you to preview and adjust results before production, avoiding additional time and expense.
  3. Multiple manufacturers : Working with more than one manufacturer can result in variations in processes and results that vary greatly due to different technical equipment. With Pantone's cloud-based color tools, you can ensure that your manufacturers are all working toward the same result to achieve color consistency across all areas.
  4. Multiple runs: Your color may be consistent throughout an entire production run, but will it match the previous run? Or the next one? With color measurement and color evaluation tools from Pantone and parent company X-Rite, it's possible to achieve consistent color from run to run, no matter when, where, or under what conditions they're produced.

To keep your brand colors consistent, you should always work with the most current Pantone color systems . Our Pantone color guides ensure that you speak the same color language across multiple manufacturers and don't waste time determining the exact shade for your private label.
