NCS wächst von 1950 auf 2050 Standardfarben an!

NCS Grows from 1950 to 2050 Standard Colours!

Calling all designers! NCS has just added 100 new colors to the NCS Color System. Over the past 40 years, NCS has revolutionized color communication and helped designers do their creative work. Find out how NCS tools continue to support and inspire color professionals today, thanks to the addition of 100 new colors and updates to the most popular tools.

100 new colors for the NCS color system

NCS grows from 1950 to 2050 colors by adding 100 low chromaticity colors. These colors are extremely important in the fields of design and architecture , as it is often not easy to distinguish one color from another. However, slight differences in shade or hue can have a big impact when the color is applied. The additional colors offer a wider spectrum in the chromatically low part of the color space, allowing more options and better control when using low chromaticity colors.

The new colours are the result of a collaboration between NCS Colour and the global community of colour experts to improve the NCS system. The new colours are chromatically low shades, focusing on shades between yellow and red, and include two completely new shades : NCS S 0601 and NCS S 1001, often referred to as Off-White.

“We have added colors to complete the NCS color palette and to provide enhanced color precision where it is needed."
- Fredrik Lundgren, Product Design Manager NCS Color

New designs and sustainable updates

In addition to adding 100 new colors to the NCS Color System, NCS has also updated some of its most popular tools, including the Index , Album , Atlas and Block . These tools have been redesigned to improve usability, durability and environmental friendliness. Less plastic is used in both the product and packaging, and the materials used have also been improved to extend the life of the products themselves.

Waste is a major problem in the paint and coatings industry as the colour results are usually not as the customer or designer envisioned. Communication and a consistent colour language are therefore key. The NCS colour system allows you to " speak the same language" from conception to manufacture, saving not only time and frustration but also waste. NCS makes this possible by offering better tools for design and previewing colours before a purchase decision is made. They strive to make the products even more useful and help users find the right colour first time.

The NCS Index has been improved with a new layout to make color selection faster and more intuitive. The NCS Atlas and NCS Album have a new white overview page that makes it easier to compare white colors in different shades. The NCS block is available in two variants: a block organized by shade or a block organized by shade, with both blocks containing nine small color fans.
