Die Must-Haves fürs Home-Office

Must-Haves for the Home Office

In these uncertain times, we know that many of our customers are preparing to work from home, or are already doing so. We have therefore put together some tips and our "must-haves" for productive work in the home office.

Create a workspace

Create a separate area within your home. This is crucial for anyone working from home to ensure a strict separation between work and leisure time. You may want to consider rooms or areas with multiple power outlets in your living area to ensure you can use all of your work equipment.

Choose the right monitor

Now that you've chosen a suitable workspace, you need to make sure you're using a monitor that offers the same professional quality you're used to in your studio. With a BenQ or Eizo monitor, you can not only work from home, but also significantly reduce eye strain. The more hours you spend indoors, the more screen time you spend, so it's more important than ever to protect your eyes.

lighting

Lighting is key for anyone working from home, but especially for photographers, videographers and designers. They will be more likely to focus on screens, prints and colour samples. That's why we advise you to incorporate an OttLite into your home office - LED lamps with natural daylight that will ease your eyestrain and improve your mood.

Not only is light important for your eye health, but as a photographer it is also crucial that you are able to evaluate prints under the right lighting conditions. For this we recommend using the GrafiLite 2 .
The GrafiLite 2 is compact and space-saving and allows you to view prints and samples under standardized lighting conditions - important for every photographer and designer.

anti-glare hood

Do you work in a brightly lit area? Then PChOOD anti-glare hoods are the simple solution to block glare and excess light from your monitor for an optimized workspace. These are also available for laptops, meaning editing can be done outside to get some fresh air while you're stuck at home.

Calibrate your monitor and devices

If you've been putting off calibrating your monitor, now is the perfect time! We know that calibrating monitors is often put off, but it's so important to make sure all of your screens are precisely calibrated so that the colors of your work exactly match industry standards.

X-Rite offers a range of products for colour accuracy and calibration. For example, the i1Display Pro will help you achieve a professional result in any work done at home, as it ensures that all devices in your workflow are profiled and calibrated.

Keep color charts handy

Color guides are an essential tool for every designer and photographer. There's no need to lose access to accurate color in your design flow when you're away from the office. Simply get your own reliable color guide and browse our range of Pantone color guides and books to achieve consistent color accuracy for graphics and print.
