ControlTL
PocketWizard's firmware accesses the camera's digital communications to enable a whole new level of remote flash functionality using our proven radio system. ControlTL enables remote TTL for Canon E-TTL II systems, as well as manual power control. ControlTL firmware is configurable and upgradeable to ensure future-proof, continuous improvement. Dedicated E-TTL II triggering
By snapping your FlexTT6 transmitter into the hot shoe of a Canon DSLR camera and mounting E-TTL II flash units on FlexTT6 or FlexTT5 transceivers, you get full autoflash control and the freedom and reliability of a PocketWizard remote trigger. There are no special settings or modes to enter; use camera, flash or flash command controls for flash compensation, and zone and ratio controls.
Manual power control
Adjust your remote's manual power settings to your Canon Speedlites directly from an AC3 ZoneController by mounting a FlexTT6. You can control the power of up to three groups of lights (you can put as many lights as you want in each group) independently, from full power to the lowest level, simply by using the AC3's dials. Now you can use the remote triggers to fully control lights without changing the shooting position.
Select Zone
The FlexTT6 transceiver features an ABC zone selector switch that allows use with the remote groups/zones found on the PocketWizard AC3 ZoneController or Canon Master Flashes. Zones allow you to control individual lights or groups of lights independently in different zones. These zones can also be used with a MuiltiMAX. This allows you to pair a single MultiMAX radio with the FlexTT6 transceivers and use many of the MultiMAX's advanced triggering features.
HyperSync
Our patent-pending HyperSync technology enables photographers to achieve faster X-sync speeds of up to 1/8000s at full flash power. Now you can cut off the ambient light and shoot with the aperture open outdoors in bright sunlight. HyperSync automatically adjusts the timing of your flash trigger to achieve a faster speed than X-sync. With certain Canon camera and flash combinations, you can achieve sync down to 1/8000s. Imagine what you can create with flash in direct sunlight, with the aperture wide open and fast shutter speeds. Because HyperSync is a trigger function, you can use any PocketWizard receiver, including the FlexTT5, PlusX, Plus III, Plus II or the MultiMAX. HyperSync also works optimally with studio flashes. For more information about X-sync speeds with flashes, see Optimized HSS.
Please visit http://wiki.pocketwizard.com/hyperSync to configure HyperSync. While performance will vary depending on the camera and flash used, HyperSync can get the most out of any configuration.
HyperSync ™ automation
HyperSync Automation sets the HyperSync timing in two different places - the transmitter and the receiving ControlTL receiver. The FlexTT6 or FlexTT6 Camera will automatically adjust to HyperSync to compensate for shutter speed changes. Photographers can further fine-tune HyperSync through the PocketWizard utility. For more information on configuring HyperSync Automation, see the HyperSync section of the PocketWizard wiki.
Optimized high-speed synchronization (HSS)
When HyperSync can't keep up, High Speed Sync takes over the speed for Speedlite flash shooting at 1/8000 second. ControlTL optimizes this amazing feature to provide more light (which equates to a longer working distance), faster recharge times, and more fireable flashes per battery when shooting in Canon's HSS/FP flash mode. Use this feature to shoot in direct sunlight with an open aperture for amazing results.
Optimized curtain synchronization
The precise rear curtain sync function is activated automatically, no buttons need to be pressed. Set the shutter speed at which rear curtain sync is activated using the PocketWizard utility. Capture natural light trails with sharp shots at the end.
Pre-Flash Boost
In some E-TTL situations, such as shooting in direct sunlight, at a great distance, or with diffusers or bounce flashes, the normal pre-flash is simply not enough for the camera. With Pre-Flash Boost, the pre-flash is a full two stops brighter. This roughly doubles the working distance of the E-TTL II and compensates for the light lost during defusing or reflecting.
Power Tracking
When using PowerST4, PowerMC2 and AC9 / FlexTT6 with compatible manual flash units, you can change any of your settings on the camera and the system will automatically adjust to these changes. Change the flash exposure compensation to adjust the exposure or adjust the aperture or ISO and the system will compensate the flash for correct exposure.
basic trigger mode
This means that the FlexTT6 can function as a basic shutter release on any camera.
