Description: This is a special remote shutter release cable called a pre-trigger cable. A pre-trigger cable allows you to control your remote's shutter release with a half-press and a full-press. When a camera is "pre-triggered", it is as if the camera's shutter release is held in the half-press position or metering/focusing position.
This ACK cable allows a compatible PocketWizard radio to control the Half Press and Full Press functions independently.
Added bonus: All CM-E3-ACC cables released from July/August 2013 will include a MSMM (stereo to mono miniphone) adapter that converts a CM-E3-ACC cable into a standard CM-E3 miniphone cable. This change coincides with the launch of our new retail packaging. All cables are now packaged in an eco-friendly cardboard box with recycled white labels showing both cable ends as well as the compatibility list. This replaces our old packaging of a ziplock bag packaging.
A standard cable (CM-E3) will work with most PocketWizard radios, but does not have the half-press button capability and is for basic remote triggering only. (Using a CM-E3-ACC cable with an MSMM adapter will perform the same function as a CM-E3 cable.)
A pre-release or pre-trigger (–P) cable (CM-E3-P) works with most PocketWizard radios. This pre-trigger cable has a switch that allows you to half-press or turn off when in camera position, but not remotely. (Using a CM-E3-ACC cable with a PTMM adapter performs the same function as a CM-E3-P cable.)

PlusX: Use this cable with the PlusX to trigger the camera.
Plus III: Use this cable with the Plus III's exclusive 2-step shutter release to activate or focus your remote, just like the camera's shutter button.
FlexTT5: This cable is required for E-TTL automatic relay mode or other remote triggering with the FlexTT5. Learn more here. You can use a CM-E3-P cable or a CM-E3 standard cable with a FlexTT5, but your remote camera will not be able to pass an E-TTL signal to Speedlites. The FlexTT5 does not support 2-stage triggering.
MultiMAX with -ACC connector: Activate a remote zone with your MultiMAX handset and your remote MultiMAX will activate the remote camera with this cable. As long as the zone is on, the remote camera will stay awake and respond faster and more consistently, but will also consume the camera's batteries much faster. When the remote zone is deactivated, the camera will go into normal sleep mode. The MultiMAX does not support the 2-stage trigger functions.

Please note: Many manufacturers including Olympus, Fuji and Pentax now use 2.5mm subminiphone connectors for their remote triggers.
