The ColorChecker Digital SG is the same size as the Classic – 215.9 x 279.4mm – and can be used for a variety of applications, such as:
- Digital photography: Review images, correct white balance and perform extensive color analysis for correction
- Filming: Checking films, light, filters and paper
- Graphic Arts: Review every printing or proofing process
- Scanner Profiling: Create custom ICC scanner profiles (with compatible software)
Designed specifically for the needs of digital photographers, the Digital ColorChecker SG Target contains the highest quality color reference standards currently available on the market. Each of the 140 color patches has been selected based on its location in the color space to expand the color space so that photographers can create profiles that take full advantage of the capabilities of their digital camera and scanner.
The ColorChecker Digital SG Target contains the colors from the standard ColorChecker Target, many of which represent natural objects such as human skin tones, leaf greens, and blue skies. Additional skin tone reference colors provide greater accuracy and consistency across a wide range of skin tones, and the grayscale allows precise control of the camera's internal white balance to achieve a neutral color regardless of the light source. The ColorChecker Digital SG can also be used to create a white balance with your digital camera to ensure accurate, consistent, neutral white under all lighting conditions.
The ColorChecker Digital SG offers the same great value as the ColorChecker Classic for comparing digital reproductions to real-world scenes or test targets. However, the ColorChecker Digital SG goes a step further than the traditional ColorChecker by displaying a wider color gamut and allowing for finer gradation of individual colors. Simply include the ColorChecker Digital SG in your first photo if you are shooting JPEG or traditional, or in each photo in the series if you are shooting in raw format. Later, during editing, you can use it to compare, measure and analyze differences in color reproduction in any color reproduction system. This objective standard will help you avoid costly mistakes and subsequent color corrections.
