ControlTL
PocketWizard's new firmware platform harnesses the full potential of your camera and flash system, enabling a whole new level of remote flash capabilities through our proven radio communication. ControlTL firmware is configurable and upgradeable to ensure future-proof, continuous improvement.
Manual power control
When used with a FlexTT5 transceiver and paired with a MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 in-camera, the AC9 allows you to adjust the power settings of your AlienBees/White Lightning strobes directly from the camera position. This can be done either with the flash exposure compensation dial or by adding the AC3 ZoneController for three power control zones.
ZoneControl
Use either the AC3 ZoneController or a MultiMAX radio to control up to three lighting zones with as many light sources in each zone as you want or need. Use the ABC zone switch on the AC9-paired FlexTT5 to assign the zone.
PowerTracking
In Auto mode, change the ISO, aperture or FEC value and the lighting will automatically adjust to the compensation performance using PocketWizard PowerTracking. Set your AC3 ZoneController to manual and PowerTracking is turned off for total manual control. PowerTracking can be adjusted using the PocketWizard utility.
HyperSync ™
With HyperSync, photographers can achieve faster X-sync speeds of up to 1/8000s* and work with full flash power. Now you can cut off ambient light and use wide apertures outdoors in direct sunlight. This extra speed can freeze motion whether you're shooting models or athletes in motion. (*Camera and flash model dependent).
HyperSync automation
With ControTL firmware updates for the MiniTT1 and FlexTT5 for Canon (6.0) and Nikon (3.0), adjusting HyperSync is now automated. HyperSync can now be adjusted in two different places: on the transmitter and on the receiving ControlTL receiver. The transmitting MiniTT1 or FlexTT5 on the camera will automatically adjust HyperSync to compensate for changes in shutter speed. Photographers can further fine-tune HyperSync through the PocketWizard utility. Visit http://wiki.pocketwizard.com/HyperSync to learn more about configuring HyperSync with an AC9 AlienBees adapter.
